In property management, it’s easy to get distracted by what others are doing. You might notice a coworker receiving more attention or praise, even though you're consistently closing more move-ins. But just like in the world of competitive sports, true success comes from focusing on your own journey.

Take inspiration from the recent races at the Paris Olympics, where Sha’Carri Richardson, a well-known competitor, won silver. Despite the spotlight on Richardson, it was Julien Alfred of St. Lucia who took home the gold. Alfred’s victory wasn’t about outshining others—it was about running her own race, staying focused, and giving her best performance.

As a leasing agent, your path is unique. The goals you set, the strategies you employ, and the challenges you face are yours alone. It’s tempting to compare yourself to others, especially when it seems like they’re getting more recognition. However, your success isn’t defined by the attention you receive, but by the results you achieve.

Instead of worrying about what others are doing, concentrate on your strengths and keep improving your skills. Much like athletes who train tirelessly for their moment of glory, your dedication and consistency will pay off in the long run.

Remember, the race you're running is yours to win. By staying focused on your own progress and ignoring the noise around you, you'll not only achieve greater success but also find more fulfillment in your accomplishments. Stay determined, trust your journey, and keep your eyes on the finish line that matters to you.
